Toddler Yoga

Young children need yoga and play now more than ever.  We are living in a different world-one that is fast paced, with tons of pressure and big things happening around the globe.  As young as your child may be, they can feel this on an energetic level.  And they need tools to manage their feelings, move their bodies and just be a kid. This class will foster problem solving and support kids physical, mental and emotional health. In Children’s yoga, kids will exercise, learn physical coordination, improve body awareness and strengthen weak muscles. They will play by expressing themselves, using their imagination and interacting with other peers. When children move and play, it increases their self -confidence and relationship with their inner selves. Practicing yoga as a family promotes harmony between caregiver and child.  Family yoga provides the space to be happy and have fun and connect with your child.

Class includes:

* 20-30 minute yoga practice

* Art activity

* Group game

Group Leader Lisa Melkonian, M.Ed, RYT 400 is an early child educator, who has worked with children from various backgrounds with many different combinations of needs, disabilities and hardships. She believes that every child is an individual and that children don’t need fixing. They need support. Her certifications in yoga, meditation and other healing modalities allow her to work with children in a holistic way that supports their body, mind and spirit. She is also committed to serving the adults that work with children.
