Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
We know that parents are dealing with a lot when they have a baby. We are here to help ease some of the challenges that may come along. Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle approach that can help your baby breathe, feed and sleep better
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of manual therapy that can be used with a baby even as young as a few minutes old. The goal is to help release fascial restrictions and help with the flow of cerebrospinal fluid for optimal overall functioning. Being born is very traumatic in and of itself. Couple that with having been positioned in a tight womb for several months and you have a baby who may be experiencing a number of troubling symptoms such as shallow latch, head turning preference, breast preference when nursing, gas, spit up, difficulty with bowel movements, back arching and overall discomfort.
Dr. John Upledger, an osteopathic physician, developed craniosacral therapy. He found that as little as 5 grams of pressure was enough to release tissues and cause more freedom of movement. Our craniosacral system includes the brain, cerebrospinal fluid, membranes inside the cranium, 22 cranial bones, the spine and the sacrum.

Here at Ahoy Baby we offer specifically infant craniosacral therapy for babies birth until they are walking.
